Hi There
I’m Sarah (well, officially Dr Sarah Morante but that makes me kinda cringy cos I like keeping things fairly casual).
I created MorHealth in 2010 when I was dividing my time between university lecturing and research in exercise and sport science, tennis coaching and personal training. I realised how much useful information sat hidden in scientific journals and never found its way to the general public who were crying out for trusted information to help them lead a healthy lifestyle.
So MorHealth was born to harness my unique blend of experiences to bridge this gap. I use my background in science and research to unearth and decipher well-established theory and the latest scientific research on a range of topics within health and lifestyle. And then I tap into my coaching experience to relay this information in a way that’s easy to understand and apply. In doing so, I hope to equip individuals with the lifelong knowledge and skills they need to take control of their own health and lifestyle.
MorHealth was also established as an alternative to the extreme, quick-fix approaches that have become so prevalent. MorHealth promote a sensible and scientific philosophy on healthy living that aligns with our body. It’s simple, balanced and enjoyable so that it’s sustainable. That, in my book, is genuine healthy living.
As for me, I truly practice what I preach. I enjoy a healthy lifestyle but I’m no zealot about it. I love being outdoors and physically active. I continue to coach loads of tennis after more than twenty years for the run-around, social element and working with people to improve their performance. I also train around the edges, especially enjoying running, high-intensity interval training, fits and spurts of yoga, and like many, I try to stretch. I eat a balanced diet that focusses on nutrition and all things in moderation rather than restriction. Finally, I balance things by taking time out to hang at the beach (about every morning), regularly stoke my creative juices and just generally potter about without any grand plan.
